FLASH FLOOD IN JALONG TINGGI

On the early morning of 14 September 2020  around 5 a.m., Kampung Asap flooded due to long hour rain. Leftover logs blocking the road effected about 1000 Orang Asli folks staying nearby. School children cannot go to school. Adults cannot go to work. Few reports made to Perak Menteri Besar, MACC Perak, JAS Perak and PDRM Sg. Siput regarding the illegal logging activities related to the  mini-hydro project. No actions from the respective authority.

JAS Perak replied to the previous complaint that there are no logging activities in this area. Where the logs come from if there is no logging nearby? Why the river turn yellowish?

There are many unanswered questions! The authorities owed the Orang Asli in Jalong Tinggi an answer.

CLEANING LINTANG MAKMUR LAKE

The recent rainy season, brought damages to road and flash flood to few areas in Sg. Siput. Taman Lintang Makmur is one of the area affected. The local government has cleaned and deepened the Lintang Makmur lake recently. The beautified lake attracted fishing kaki to fish around. Now the lake can acts as retention pond more efficiently. Hopefully, the flashflood solved.
