ROAD

 

Referring to my post on 29 November 2020 on the newly enlarge bridge from Kg. Chengkei to Kg. Pisang in Jalong Tinggi. The bridge has been completed.

A visit to the place today, TNB is in the progress of shifting the street light pole. Upon completion, they left a hole!

GOTONG ROYONG

 

The Orang Asli knows no one would help them if they didn't help themselves. Thus, they always have weekend "gotong-royong" to make the surrounding clean and clear. 

The villagers voluntarily contributed their time and money for the village. The housing residence should emulate their effort.

ROAD COMPLETION

 

A visit to Kg Pisang on 7 November, a new bridge is in the progress of constructing. This new bridge is wider.

Today, revisited the bridge. The works are completed. The road has been tarred.

PROBLEM, PROBLEM EVERYWHERE IN JALONG TINGGI

 

Recent heavy downpour has washed out the land from the surrounding hilly high land. The situation worsens with the ongoing logging and mini-hydro project. Landslip happened rampantly lately.

JAKOA has been alerted by the Batin Durga, while I have notified Penghulu, Pengarah Pembangunan Persekutuan Negeri Perak and Setiausaha Sulit Khas MB Perak.

I was informed, JAKOA, Jabatan Alan Sekitar, Pejabat Hutan, Jawatankuasa Bencana Alam and Pejabat Daerah visited the place.

UNITED TEMIAR KAMPUNG PISANG, JALONG TINGGI

 

Due to the logging in the nearby forest, the water catchment reservoir built by Kampung Pisang villages was destroyed. They jointly build a new water catchment reservoir further out but the water supplies are not enough. This may due to the new reservoir is smaller than the previous one. 

In order to have enough water supplies, the villagers voluntarily contributed money and energy to built a water tank near their village. The water tank store water to the village. It is a good decision! 

The Batin, go around to beg for contributions. He approached Tan Sri SA Vigneswaran, the MIC President and most probably the candidate for Sungai Siput Parliament and the nearby ADUN Lintang who is the Perak State EXCO ... unfortunately, no response from them. 

As usual, the current Sungai Siput MP and ADUN Jalong never take care of the Orang Asli in Jalong Tinggi! They never visit them since the 14th GE! 

The villagers will come together for the benefit of their village as below:

ORANG ASLI CRAFTMANSHIP

 

Orang Asli has been living in the jungle for centuries. Their daily needs and basic necessities are based on the surrounding nature. This has made them a great craftsman. Kampung Pisang one of the eleven OA kampungs in Jalong Tinggi has built a Balai Sewang with bamboo and rattan.

DAMAGED ROAD - KAMPUNG PISANG

 

On 7th. November 2020, I was invited to Kampung Pisang for an OA programme. The Batin and the villagers showed me around their kampung. They fetch me from Kampung Chengkei, which is about 1.5 KM to Kampung Pisang. I am wondering why the Batin arranged people to fetch me here! As far as I know, the tar road is leading to Kampung Pisang, the last OA kampung in Gugusan Kenang.

As I reached Kampung Chengkei, I noticed a new bridge is in progress. Further up, the road is badly damaged. Part of the road has been washed up by the recent rain.

On Monday, 9 November 2020, I was notified by the Batin that the other side of the road has been washed out too!

The united villagers have carried out road repair immediately. Now the road can be used but it will not last long. The Perak Menteri Besar office and Pejabat Pembangunan Persekutuan office has been notified. Hopefully, they can find allocation somewhere to rebuild the road.
